The East Meets West Gallery is pleased to announce
a joint exhibit by Catherine Charreyre and Alexander
Oligerov entitled
“Parallel Worlds”. The event is part
of the annual “Artesania” Art Fair held at the
New Manege exhibition hall.

Catherine Charreyre is a French artist specializing in installations, textile constructions, sculpture and photo-histories, and will be presenting part of her new project “Traveling Coats”. This collection is a series of unique art objects from textiles, which Catherine sometimes animates, humanizes, giving them the qualities of another, parallel reality.

Alexander Oligerov was first exhibited in Moscow during our art-project “Organica” in 2010. In spring 2011, Alexander won the first prize in the art competition "Made in Russia" initiated by the “Open Art Milano Gallery”. In July 2011 he was awarded by a monthly long personal exhibition at this gallery.
His new series of works “Color Dreams” creates a parallel world of colorful dreams, at one moment full of anxiety, at another full of joy, sometimes full of sorrow sometimes very touching.

“Traveling Coats” store in their folds images, memories and emotional impressions about the places we visit.”- C. Charreyre. They become part of our animated memory, like pages of our traveler's diary, where pieces of woven fabric when sewn together become part of the unique garment.
