First presentation of a solo exhibition źMetaphysical Technologism╗
by Gennady Troshkov at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts

źEast Meets West Gallery╗ curator Tatiana Paleeva is proud to present źMetaphysical Technologism╗, a solo exhibition of works by artist Gennady Troshkov, at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts from September 17 to October 25, 2013.
The exhibit is part of the parallel program of the 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, and showcases a retrospective of the artistĺs work from 1975 to 2013.

The Wind, 2008. Oil on canvas

Gennady Troshkov sets himself apart by his unusual way of thinking. He deals with the unexplained in a way not meant for verbal description but rather for sound and music. The subject spreads out over time, and the viewer uses his imagination to transform the images in his own mind ľ thus taking part in co-creation together with the artist. This process is not for everyone, but can be thrilling and exciting for those who step into the path.

The exhibit will feature his paintings, drawings and sculpture. One hall is dedicated to book illustrations created by the artist in the 1970s and 1980s; the others will contain works rarely seen in contemporary art today such as relief and tapestry, as well as more common nowadays materials and techniques: mixed media (watercolor, gouache and collage on foam board), watercolor on plastic, watercolor on ceramic in original artist technique and others.
