Patrizia Bonanzinga

Biography

During her university studies where she obtains a degree in Mathematics, Patrizia Bonanzinga discovers her passion for photography. She has worked in several fields including education, training and scientific research. She used to live in Mexico, in Algeria, in the USA, in France and in China. It's in Beijing (1995-1998) where she focuses on photography, dedicating to this country several projects.
Her photos are included in the collections of the National Gallery of Modern Art, the MAXXI National Museum of Arts of XXI century of Rome, the House of Photography of Moscow, the Training and Documentation Centre Ricardo Rangel of Maputo (Mozambique) and also in private collections.
In May 2003 she curated three exhibitions at the gallery “L’Officina Arte al Borghetto”, Rome. during the Second International Rome Photo Festival “FotoGrafia”, Italy: ”Made in China” of Rhodri Jones, “Shi Ma?” by Bertrand Meunier, “Chinese collectivities” of Gao Brothers, Han Lei, Tie Uing, Zhang Da Li and Xing Danwen.
She used to teach the course in Photography “Education to Images” at the University Roma III (Roma Tre University). She regularly publishes critical essays on photography in different photo magazines and collaborates with “FotoGrafia Reflex” magazine  since 2001.
She is a member of Giornalistica Fotografica Agency (the AFG Agency) of Rome, Italy.
She lives in Brussels since 2008.
